About Chi

Chi is the ancient Chinese word for Breath or Life Energy that bestows health, wellness and vitality. It is often called the Life Force

TAI CHI - or Tai Chi Chuan - is a physical, mental, and spiritual exercise developed in ancient China by Taoist priests. Tai Chi Chuan means “The Supreme Ultimate System of Boxing.” It is a formidable and profound martial art using the principles of yin and yang - a soft style martial art in contrast to hard styles such as Kung Fu and Karate. Tai Chi has four components:
  • physical exercise
  • martial art
  • moving meditation
  • healing art (Chinese medicine)

Understanding all these levels helps one strengthen Life Force.

Tai Chi offers a set form of slow, relaxed movements that strengthen the body, improve balance and coordination, and enhance powers of concentration.

CHI KUNG
Chi is Life Energy; Kung is the mastery of life energy.
CHI KUNG, then,  is a series of simple, deep breathing exercises that promote relaxation and better health. It can help prevent or cure illness, and can be learned at all ages. Ancient Taoist sages attributed their long lives and ability to perform superhuman feats to their daily practice of Chi Kung. It is an important part of Chinese medicine and Tai Chi Chuan. It is used throughout China as a therapeutic exercise in many hospitals and clinics, and like Tai Chi  has a growing following in North America and Europe.

About Aikido

Aikido translated means "the way of harmony with nature (or spirit)." It is the world's fastest-growing martial art because it provides us with the means of achieving a peaceful victory over violence. The beauty of Aikido is that it uses non-violent blending techniques (no punches or kicks) to end physical conflict, providing you with an effective way to respond to violence without having to resort to violence yourself. Aikido takes the "fight" out of conflict and the fear out of relating to others with honesty, compassion and love. On a spiritual level, Aikido is the bodily realization of the principle of the unity of all creation.
Aikido also is based on the principle that true self-defense and optimal health are one and the same phenomenon. The physical techniques and exercises used in Aikido are designed to keep the vital ki, or chi, flowing for peak vitality and exuberance.

is a combination of water and shiatsu, the Asian method of bodywork that aims to release blocked energy, thus relieving pain and tension. It was started in California by a master of Shiatsu who applied the ancient techniques in warm water tohelp the body move more freely.
"All About Watsu. An increasingly popular therapy, Watsu involves being cradled in a warm pool (by a Watsu-certified therapist) while having your body gently stretched and guided through a series of flowing movements. Not surprisingly, Watsu was developed in California in the 1980s, but now has become a popular stress-reduction technique at health spas in many parts of the country. Watsu is also used at some rehabilitation centers to treat people with problems ranging from muscle and joint injury to cerebral palsy and stroke."
