Bethlehem Centre

Spirituality without Borders

The Bethlehem Centre's vision embraces “spirituality without borders” and we maintain the tradition of hospitality that has long been part of the Centre’s strength. We welcome all those who wish to explore their own spirituality as well as discover the wisdom and teachings of others. We believe that there is a connectedness in humanity in our search for meaning and spirituality, and we collaborate with partners to offer programs that help people evolve in ways that expand our consciousness and connectedness to each other, our communities and our planet.

Bethlehem Centre Nestled amongst tall trees on Westwood Lake at the foot of Mount Benson on Vancouver Island, the Bethlehem Centre provides a delightful all-inclusive environment for conferences and events focused on spirituality, leadership and community. Our cottage-at-the-lake style facility has 37 bedrooms, with 44 beds; 5 meeting rooms, with capacity from 12 to 100; an outdoor labyrinth; a finger labyrinth collection; a gift shop, and a library. Included in your stay are three meals per day created by our Certified Chef de Cuisine in our dining room overlooking the Westwood Lake. Call us to find out more about our programs and events, and how we can work with you to provide a nurturing environment for your next gathering.

The Bethlehem Centre is a sacred place, with quiet spaces, healthy nourishing food, and beautiful gardens. The Centre has one of the first outdoor labyrinths created on Vancouver Island based on the labyrinth at the Chartres Cathedral in France. It also houses the Godden Finger Labyrinth Collection and a lovely gift shop. Our location is tucked away in the forest with a swimming beach only 6 minutes walk up the Westwood Lake Trail, but we are also close to all amenities and transportation - travel from ferries and the airport are no more than 30 minutes.   The Bethlehem Centre offers a beautiful, peaceful environment, with 37 “cottage-at-the-lake” style rooms and full meal service, that is conducive to nurturing creativity and spiritual path-making. Many charitable and faith-based organizations have successfully organized events at the Centre.   Our mandate is to work with you and your group to make sure that your needs for development are met. We have two streams of programming: the first are programs that we develop and offer at the Centre. We welcome outside proposals for these programs, which are reviewed for inclusion by our program committee. The second type of programming we offer is collaboration with groups that fit our mandate or are registered charities. Please call us for more information. If your program idea is outside our mandate or is not associated with a charity, we may have room at times when our regular programming is not active. Please give us a call to check availability. We offer: Faith-based, leadership and community programs. 37 bedrooms, 44 beds (7 rooms have two twins) Three meals per day included with your stay. 5 meeting rooms (capacity 12-100). Forest walking paths & Westwood Lake Trail. A Library focussed on spirituality and faith. Grounds that include a contained ecosystem pond, vegetable garden and outdoor labyrinth.
