Shaila Catherine has a deep love of meditation practice. She has been practicing meditation since 1980, accumulating more than nine years of silent retreat experience, and has taught internationally since 1996. Shaila studied with masters in India, Thailand, and Nepal, and also with the founders of western Buddhist meditation centers.   Students describe Shaila’s presence as gentle, compassionate, joyous, accessible, and strikingly clear. She welcomes all levels of meditators and her retreats often include both beginners and advanced practitioners meditating together. Shaila has been called “a teacher’s teacher” because she is known for her precision, and for refining the meditation skills of advanced practitioners. Her dedication to the liberating teachings of the Buddha is an inspiration for everyone.
